What are databases?
JABRO works with a professional translation memory tool that is based on a huge database in which all translated texts are stored separately for each customer. The system only stores the information that the translator enters, i.e. it cannot translate autonomously and thus merely serves as an aid for the translator/service provider. When we receive new orders from our customers, every sentence of the new document is automatically compared with all previously processed segments in the database.
If the system finds an identical or similar segment from a previous translation, it will offer the translation of the old segment for reuse. The translator can use or change the proposed text or write an entirely new text.
This approach ensures consistent texts and terminology.
We do not charge anything for repetitions from previous translations and project-internal repetitions.
